Walk and Wonder .11

Embracing Your Journey of Redemption

TRANSCRIPT:

Hey guys, Will Acuff here.

One of the things that our faith can unintentionally teach us is to always measure our life by how far short we have fallen from the ideal, right? Think of passages like how far short we've fallen of the glory of God—things like that, right?

And then sometimes we're told, "Man, don't look at your own stuff, your own sin, your brokenness, whatever. Look to Jesus," right?

But I want to take that a step further. Throughout the New Testament, we're told that we are in Christ. The old has passed. The new has come, right? Something new and beautiful is happening.

So don't just look at the brokenness. And don't just look at Jesus—look at Jesus in you. What is God bringing forth? In other words, look at how far He's already brought you. Look at the things in your life that have already changed. Look at the way you're experiencing new joy and new freedom.

So, look backward at a story of redemption rather than focusing on, "Oh man, I still have so far to go."

Hope you have a great morning, guys.
